Thursday marks the opening of the Major League Baseball season 2025. Teams in both leagues have been promoting specials on items from snacks and hotdogs to booze. The offers reflect the desire to alleviate economic stress among hungry consumers, which has included fast food value meals, discounted groceries, and fewer drinks with orders.
The Baltimore Orioles' Birdland Value Menu, for example, includes more than 12 items costing $6 or less, including pretzel bites, hot dogs, 12-ounce beers, refillable soda, popcorn, nachos and hard seltzer. Catie Giriggs, president for business operations at the team, said that a four-person family can attend a game with low-cost tickets and value food.
