Two giants from the world of restaurant reservation and ride-sharing have joined forces.
OpenTable (a division of Booking Holdings, BKNG) and Uber (UBER), a ride-sharing and deliveries company, announced on Monday a partnership that will pair Uber’s delivery services with OpenTable’s restaurant network.
OpenTable’s senior director of global communications, Mary-Kate Smitherman, told Investopedia, “this collaboration connects the dots between dine-in, delivery, and transportation, helping restaurants reach more guests, fill more tables, and deliver incredible experiences—whether in person or at home.”
OpenTable and Uber plan integrations for the Uber Eats, Uber and OpenTable applications as part of this partnership. The companies have said that more information about the partnership will be released in phases over the next few months.
Uber shares rose 0.2% on Monday, while Booking Holdings fell 0.6%.
